You were posting just what I would have posted and I was away for about a week.
Thanks for your help Matt. I knew you were away via another forum so as soon as I saw your reply today for the Epson post I just had to get your advise on this one.
New Macbook won't print to Ricoh work printer
I notice the PPD name you show appears to be different to what I posted, which I got from the pxlmono package notes. Has there been a change or is what I posted a set of headings and there is a subset of PPDs for each respective model entry? Page content loaded. Feb 16, 7: Feb 19, 5: A new window will open. In that window, click the Default Browser icon at the top left.

Highlight your printer in the section below. Use the "Print Using" pop-up menu near the bottom of the window to select the correct PPD for your printer and click Add. What can be done next? Or, what I shall do next?

Feb 19, 6: With the Ricoh not appearing in the Default Add Printer view, this would indicate that the printer does not support the Bonjour protocol. So if you know or can find the IP address of the Ricoh, then you can create a print queue by selecting the IP icon instead of the Default icon, then select the HP Jetdirect-Socket protocol and then enter the IP address of the printer.
You can leave the queue name blank, change the name to something more meaningful than the IP address, and leave the Location field blank as well. Feb 23, 9: I have done what you said and the printing job can put into the queue, but still won't print anything. The user code has been filled in the job log field and that's what MS-Windows users done in the office.
Just don't know what went wrong. Feb 23, Do you think the print jobs are getting from the Mac to the copier but then being rejected and not printed?
As opposed to the print jobs not leaving the Mac and staying in the printer queue. Because if they are leaving the Mac and being rejected by the copier then it will be something to do with the user codes. You should be able to check the print log on the Ricoh to see if your Mac print jobs are listed but with an error code, probably related to an incorrect code being used. Feb 24, 5: I have installed the printer driver downloaded from Ricoh and all of three scripts download from Matt site. Another possibility is that there's a postscript error, and the copier is not configured to print postscript errors, which would cause the print job to just disappear.
You can rule that out by enabling the option to print postscript errors in the Aficio's configuration. That might be where my problem lies I don't appear to have PS capability! So I'm checking with Ricoh. Not as such! The PS module is the best course, but I've had several clients go this route. We have several Ricoh printers on our campus, and have had to resort to installing Gutenprint on all of the Macs that need to print.

We are also using the User Codes to track printing by department. With the Macs, each time you print, you have to manually tick the 'Enable User Code' box, then input the user code. Not all of our Ricoh printers are capable of AirPrint. Then you share the printer you want to connect to off the MacMini. Shafer Systems is an IT service provider.
